4. Middlewich Road Playing Field

  1. Skateboarding Site inspection made with Sue Tarplee of CBC before meeting. Contact made with skateboarders on school grounds for their views. Concern expressed about using this area but no other sites available. Recommendations:

  • Designate area on Middlewich Road frontage
  • Proper scheme to be drawn up to include concrete surface and equipment with costings
  • Fencing with separate access required gates to be locked at dusk or 9.00 p.m. subject to availability of warden control
  • Finance to be on basis of youth group undertaking fund raising

  1. Equipment and general condition Noted to be in good order but sides of path to be cleared

5. Site visit report

Because Philip Van Schijndel of CBC unable to attend a written response had been promised within next week Clerk to circulate

Clerk had approached Cranage Parish Council re meeting about lack of progress on playing fields their Clerk to respond after their next meeting on 23-07-02

Resolved: request be made for bins to be provided at all footpath entrances to Dane Valley

8. Best Kept Village and Garden Competitions

Chairman of Council confirmed she would make arrangements with judges to start work

  1. Chairman reported on work done last weekend
  2. Clerk to thank those who had attended last time and to encourage more to take part
  3. Clerk to ask Philip Van Schijndel of CBC to contact John Clowes for update on their requirements

10. General correspondence

  1. CBC "At Home" Revised date of 25-07-02 because of industrial action JB and Clerk to attend
  2. Letters from school children 30 Year 3 pupils at HC Primary School had written to Clerk about recreation facilities especially need for a swimming pool. Agreed Clerk and JB prepare one reply explaining current position and to offer for Councillors to visit school

Parkway Clerk asked to arrange a meeting with District Engineer now development by McCarthy & Stone complete. Need for dropped kerbs for disabled.
