Clerk reported that JC had accepted invitation to be co-opted as a non-voting member of this committee; unable to attend this meeting but had noted future dates

TJH and ACR declared a non- prejudicial interest in item relating to HC Youth Club

Resolved: 09-10-03 approved

 
     

5. Matters arising

Bulb planting had been carried out agreed letter of thanks be sent to Brian Dear

6. Report of Joint Committee for Cranage Playing Fields

  1. Council received minutes of first meeting held on 17-11-03
  2. Agreed that main issue of urgency was to work out a properly costed scheme for river crossing
  3. Clerk to progress matters marked for his action

7. CBC Play Areas Strategy

  1. Draft report had been circulated to members
  2. Concern that it was not readily understandable, particularly how it related to areas in HC
  3. Agreed these concerns be passed to CBC in conjunction with how the strategy impacts on new facilities at Cranage

Resolved:

36576/3 23 Elm Drive Extension No objection

36655/3 Unit 1 Manor Lane Change of use to A3 Pizza Restaurant - Object because it is in an area zoned for employment use of which there is a shortage in the Borough; there is an adequate supply of hot food takeaway facilities in the village

36660/3 83 Elm Drive Conservatory No objection

11. Library Information Centre One stop shop

Committee considered request from CBC for suggested names for new one stop shop. Agreed preference for continued use of "Information Centre" on basis that wider services would be apparent to existing users and marketing would be required to attract wider use

12. Police problems

  1. Report of raid on local off licence because of sale of alcohol to under age people; may result in prosecution
  2. Meeting organised by local surveyor, Colin Bond on Monday 01-12-03 at 4.00 p.m. because of severe behaviour problems outside his office. YDM would attend as sub-tenant of building; others unable to attend because of existing commitments including ACR, TJH, DRP, Clerk

  1. Dog fouling at graveyard Agreed ask CBC to provide dog litter bin and notice
  2. CAD Kinderton Chairman suggested members may be prepared to distribute "stop the waste tip" leaflets to their areas
  3. Signs at Station Clerk to ask Highways to take further action
  4. Burger van at Station Clerk to press CBC to take action
