Comprehensive School – Reply from Head about behaviour problems – further information provided for Clerk to pass on

  1. Reports of recent incidents in village centre noted
  2. Problems with Travellers on Fads site and Hermitage had been resolved
 
     

6. Leisure Centre JMC

Items agreed for inclusion in agenda

7. Cranage playing pitches

Clerk reported on following:

  • CBC budget includes £65k for phase 2 so that work should be able to proceed
  • Nothing included for river crossing – agreed TJH and Clerk should discuss with CBC best way to proceed
  • Satisfactory tenders received for car park and access
  • Concerns about flooding would be passed to CBC but problem should be solved by phase 2 drainage works

Also Clerk should ask Cranage Parish Council to meet PCC re burial arrangements if required

8. Dane Valley

  1. Despite recent concerns – noted that recent work was of a better quality
  2. Philip Van Schijndel retiring from CBC in March – agreed Council needed to establish liaison with successor

9. Skateboarding

  1. CBC had sent out consultation letters re FADS site – replies to be made by 07-03-03
  2. 27 residents had attended before formal opening of meeting and had handed in letter and list of questions
  3. Agreed Clerk should ask CBC to reply to letters as soon as possible and to arrange a meeting with residents when consultation process completed before decision made
  4. Clerk to ask CCC to confirm any policy which they had on school grounds

10. Site visits

Agreed these should be repeated between APM and AGM, clerk to make arrangements, to invite Village Volunteers to appropriate meetings, photographs to be taken

11. Annual Parish Meeting

JB and Clerk making arrangements. Members asked to notify them of any items to be included in agenda or Chairman’s report

12. Street cleansing

  1. YDM reported continued monitoring
  2. TJH arranging for Alan Longshaw of CBC to walk round village to update and modernise cleaning schedule. System changing in any event on 0-04-03
  3. Also he should be invited to a future meeting

Clerk reported on forthcoming seminars on Quality Status and Playgrounds (particularly relevant for this committee). Agreed Clerk endeavour to arrange representation at Playground Seminar

Comprehensive School car park and access – Members receiving a lot of objections to planning application. Clerk to make enquiries to ensure CBC aware of strength of feeling
