Minutes of 17-07-03 could not be approved formally but had been received at last Council meeting

 
     

4. Planning applications

Agreed following comments be made:

36222/3 – 10 Westway – Kitchen extension - No objection

36239/3 – 75 Westway – No objection provided no interference with adjoining property

36247/3 – 84 Portree Drive – Exyensions - No objection

36266/9 – Lloyds Pharmacy Precinct – Signs – No objection

36295/3 – 1 Rydal Close - Extension– Concern that size might be out or proportion to existing property and adjoining properties; also may interfere with visibility on Rydal Close / Grasmere Drive junction

5. Recreation issues

  1. Notes received from Steve Jones of items discussed at last meeting and action taken
  2. Notes received from Alistair Cook updating position on second playing pitch
  3. Report received from Clerk about officer meeting to discuss land purchase issues for river crossing
  4. Arising therefrom – agreed:

  • Clerk press for award of tender and start date for second playing pitch
  • Clerk monitor progress on land acquisition
  • Arrangements to be finalised for Joint Committee after next meeting of Cranage Parish Council

6. Village Volunteers

Report received of meeting between John Clowes and Rob McGarry of CBC. Clerk had commented on some issues where necessary. Satisfactory progress being made

 
     

7. Behaviour/ Skateboarding problems

Waiting for meeting to be arranged

8. Police problems

Reports of damage to fencing on corner of Sandiford Rd and Macclesfield Rd and continuing problem of broken windows in village centre

 
     

9. Best kept garden competition

  1. Arrangements made for presentation at Champion Garden on Saturday 31-08-03 at 7.30 p.m.
  2. One member had raised issue of a commendation for St Luke’s Church. Agreed, this would have to be referred to next Council meeting; it would interfere with principle that judges determined rules each year and their decision was final
 
     

10. Areas for planting

  1. Bulbs – Agreed suitable areas would be end of St Andrews Drive; Chester Rd Selkirk Drive to Grasmere; Knutsford Rd outside cemetery
  2. Lawrence Massey – CPRE asking for suitable site to plant tree in memory of late Lawrence Massey – agreed on Chester Road near to his home or in village centre – Clerk to consult with Village Volunteers
