5.  Leisure centre JMC

Chairman gave verbal report of meeting and progress report on performance of centre.  Main area of discussion had been whether future meetings should be formal or informal and what was happening to the JMC agreement which had become outdated because of CBC reorganisation.  Local reps at meeting had been against informal meeting but Clerk expressed concern that this may hinder working relation ship with CBC.  Agreed position  be considered by Council

6.  Middlewich Road playing field

SWW reported on brief inspection of equipment following comments of Alistair Cook at last meeting:

·        Condition of climbing period not too bad from outward appearance – is it capable of being saved because it is well used

·        Not all safety surfacing seems too bad at the moment

·        Missing disc on top of roundabout

·        Repair required to seat of toddler swings

·        Concern about better cleansing to remove empty bottles and stripped cigarettes

·        Should be possible to keep equipment going to major refurbishment in 2008

7.  Cranage playing field project

1.      Progress meeting with Architect to be held on 05-10-04 – reps to report back

2.      Initial impressions that first use of pitches working well

3.      Need to review parking

4.      Name issue had been resolved by CBC – geographical name to be used for whole development but “Frank Walton” name to be used for some part

8. Dane Valley

Chairman produced details of monitoring she had carried out and disappointing response by CBC.  Clerk produced CBC proposals for next month by way of response.  CBC to be asked to report back to next meeting

9.  Seats

Clerk had been in touch with Leek TC who had produced details of supplier.  Clerk had requested brochure and would report back

10. Best kept garden competition

Engraving being arranged to enable presentations to be made before holiday period

11.  Police

Information circulated by Clerk about serious incidents.  Concern about numbers of young people coming into village at night. One problem is ability to travel free on train because fares not collected.  Police pressure welcomed

1.      School car park – Still little progress – Clerk to ask IMM and RCP for school governors to intervene

2.      M6 meeting – Clerk reported on meeting for Parish Councils at Cranage village Hall on 28-09-04.  Committee had been formed and meeting to formulate policies.  DES would attend as HCPC rep until formal appointment made

3.      Meeting arrangements at HC Primary School – Clerk drew attention to unsatisfactory state of school for this meeting because of earlier booking.  Clerk to complain to Head
