Community Action Team

Holmes Chapel sits within the Congleton and Vale Royal Police Division. There has always been a myth that anything to do with local policing in the borough is directed from Northwich Police Station. This is not the case. The structure for policing in the borough is as follows.

Response Policing:

The officers on response policing work a shift pattern that provides police cover in the borough 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

In addition to this is the Congleton Borough Community Action Team. At present it consists of 2 Sergeants and 8 Constables. It provides locally based officers who work in partnership with a host of other agencies in an effort to seek long term solutions to ongoing crime and disorder issues. Holmes Chapel has two Community Action Team officers assigned to it namely PC Carl Hurst and PC Kerrie Cummings.

All of the above is overseen by an Inspector based at Congleton Police Station who has sole responsibility for policing matters within the borough.

One of the biggest questions that arises from residents in the borough is "we never know who to contact". In an effort to address this the following may be useful:

The Police are keen to promote Home Watch within the Congleton Borough. All Home Watch matters are currently overseen by a Home Watch Co Ordinator based at Northwich Police Station. Her name is Liz Biddle who can be contacted via e mail at
