4. Financial report / update

Members considered report prepared by Clerk and discussed items of current importance and large expenditure items


5. Twinning Association

Clerk reported discussion with Glyn Chambers of CBC who had agreed to make recommendation to appropriate Portfolio holder to make a grant of £500 which would enable Assoc. to repay balance of loan from Council


6. Forward planning

  1. Clerk reported on recent discussion between a number of Town / Parish Clerks and / or Chairmen with Peter Cooper (now retired) and Glyn Chambers of CBC. Original purpose of meetings to discuss quality status but this had led to discussion as to how Councils could play a more meaningful role – e.g. involvement in CBC scrutiny process. Another feature of discussions had been to highlight need for forward planning and for this to be linked to budget process.
  2. Agreed Clerk prepare framework for a 5 year plan to enable further discussion












7. Accounts for payment

HC Primary School (Jubilee planting 250-00 (subject to necessary paperwork being provided for next Council meeting)

Agreed following items to be included:

9. General correspondence

Traders Assoc. – Letter asking Council to contribute to revision of Village Guide. Agreed contribution of £500 be recommended subject to Council having its own page




10. Members’ items

  1. Grass verges – Clerk to deal with complaints re Bramhall Drive and Westmorland Terrace
  2. New car park – Clerk confirmed that issues re surface, skateboarding precautions and Health Centre parking had been referred to CBC
