4. Committee membership

Agreed Committee recommend that Mr AC Rickards, being Council’s Financial Officer, be co-opted a member of the Committee with full voting rights

 
     

5. Financial review / update

Chairman and Clerk gave brief report

 
     

6. Annual accounts

Clerk presented summary of year-end accounts. Agreed these be recommended for approval

7. Review of budget

Clerk gave general overview of budget and main items. Budget had been fixed by the old Council but it could be amended throughout the year if considered necessary. Committees would need to consider financing of major planning issues and Cranage Playing Field project. Decisions would have to take into account position of Cranage Parish Council in opposing ODPM decision on Byley Gas Plant

 
     

8. Issues form last cycle of meetings

Agreed committee support following recommendations:

  • Continual commitment to Cranage Playing field project but no immediate finance required
  • Enquiries about risk of funding Byley litigation
  • Funding for Kinderton - £2000 – Also agreed approach for financial contribution be made to CBC
  • Funding for Hermitage School £500

10. Library one stop shop

Chairman of Council and IMM had attended opening ceremony. One feature was ability to log complaints. Agreed this should be drawn to attention of members of public as a convenient and speedy way of dealing with complaints but Council should continue to deal with any complaints directed to it.

 
     

11. Training for members

  1. CBC would provide courses starting in September with 6 monthly sessions – Clerk + 2 members
  2. Information re Local Training Partnership circulated
  3. In house training – dates to be fixed at next Council meeting
