Declaration of Prohibited Areas

In the interest of preventing the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, Cheshire County Council, after consultation with the Minister of Agriculture, hereby declares the areas identified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited areas under the provisions of Article 35B(2) of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Order 1983 (as amended by the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Amendment) (England) Order 2001).

No person shall enter or leave the areas identified in the Schedule except on a highway open to vehicular traffic.

On summary conviction the penalty for breaching the terms of this Declaration is a fine not exceeding 5000.

This Declaration may be cited as the Cheshire County Council Declaration of Prohibited Areas (No 2) 2001 and will come into effect at 5.30 pm on Friday 2 March 2001.

Declaration of a Prohibited Area
