2. Resignation of James Rigby

Chairman read letter of resignation from JR who expected to leave HC by end June to live in Channel Islands.

Resolved:

  1. JR be thanked for his comments and for his contribution with good wishes to him and wife
  2. Clerk take steps to advertise vacancy forthwith

Comprehensive School Planning Application for Car Park: IMM reported on complaint about way CBC had handled planning application when RCP declared interest and application approved without discussion despite large number of objections

35761/3 Saltersford Hall Demolition and rebuilding of outbuildings No objection

35787/1 48/50 London Road 3 new houses Object because density too high for site; shape of available land does not produce satisfactory layout with existing properties; driveway close to new bus stop

6. Lawrence Massey

Letter from CPRE asking Council consent to plant tree in memory of Lawrence Massey. Clerk reported that Mike Ellison-Taylor had spoken to him before letter received and agreed Clerk should discuss further to see if suitable site could be found on Chester Road

7. Banks

Clerk reported on meeting with members of Middlewich TC attended by ACR DRP YDM and Clerk.

Agreed that group should be formed with 2 Council reps each from Middlewich, HC, Sproston and Brereton, first meeting to be held on 22-05-03

HC reps to be appointed at AGM on 14-05-03

8. Skateboarding

All members and Clerk had received letter from Mr & Mrs Sunderland of 2 Dunoon Close objecting to skatepark on Comprehensive School site. Clerk had replied indicating that their views would be made known before decision made.

Agreed that arrangements should be made for meeting as discussed at Leisure Centre JMC to be attended by CCC, CBC, HCPC, School, Police, Youth Club and Forum, parents

8. Inspections / site visits

  1. Members considered report of meeting held on 24-04-03 which was approved subject to small additions
  2. Remaining tasks was to inspect Dane Valley; some members had viewed various areas; some work done but a lot of items reported last year and recorded by Chairman in October 2002 still outstanding
  3. Agreed Clerk should request site inspection with CBC.
