4. Matters arising

  1. River crossing / Joint Committee – Need to arrange date for joint committee with Cranage PC; land acquisition progressing slowly because of the movements of Mr Hillhouse
  2. Grass cutting – General view that standards are reasonably good this year – except for problems with Dane Housing which have now been resolved
  3. CAD – Kinderton – Clerk reported on successful meeting with Dr Wendy Le-Las earlier in week; she is now preparing action plan which could help with arrangements with public meeting; Clerk to try and arrange public meeting on date of next T&P (23-10-03)
  4. Local Plan / Housing numbers / Moratoreum – CBC report circulated
  5. Garden competition – Cup not presented to Morreys – DRP to deliver personally; Comments re St Luke’s Church to be borne in mind
  6. Knutsford Rd planning appeal – Clerk gave report from RCP
  7. Bulb planting – Scouts to do further planting on Macclesfield Rd / Picton Square and Middlewich Road
  8. Library – Substantial figures included in bid – concern they may hinder progress but Clerk had received assurances in discussion with Alan Bell of CCC; AB wished to organise a meeting for consultation re "one stop shop" – Clerk to try and arrange for a Monday or Wednesday in October; Clerk also to make enquiries about the need for library to be closed at lunch times, one full day and one half day
  9. School – Clerk reported on some difficulties re use of school for meetings and civic service reception. Clerk to discuss with Head. Members expressed preference to meet in staff room
  10. Library car park – CBC had reported that land had been transferred and difficulties resolved; financial authority awaited to confirm tender and thereafter contractor should provide timetable; work about to start at George & Dragon which would mean further loss of spaces

8. Borough Council matters

1. "At Home" – to be held on 09-10-03 (before A&P)

2. Area Forum – to be held on 29-09-03 – agenda includes item re public conveniences in HC

3. Public conveniences – Clerk reported CBC would be carrying out consultation; report indicated toilets in HC were worst in Borough; views required on such items as siting, type of building, baby changing facilities

36396/3 – Happy days nursery Hermitage School – Pre-school nursery and after school club – No objection

36406/3 – 12 Brookfield Drive – Conservatory – No objection

36410/3 – Aventis London Road – 2 storey office building – Concern about environmental impact because proposed building close to entrance and not shielded by landscaping

36411/1 - Aventis London Road – Extension- No objection if properly landscaped but general concern about ongoing development in open countryside

36423/3 – 38 Bessancourt – Conservatory – No objection


10. School Governors

IMM gave brief report on events at HC Primary School


11. Twinning Association

Clerk reported on successful BBQ; subscriptions being paid; funds building up to allow repayment to HCPC; trip to Bessancourt on 25-10-03

  3. Highways – Letter on various issues receiving attention; London Rd speed limit to be considered next year

  • Lights in public conveniences
  • Damaged litter bin at entrance to Precinct
  • Weeds on path from Precinct to Sandiford Estate keep recurring

  1. Bus services – Complaint about particular driver not keeping to route – complaint to be asked to note dates and times with details of driver
