MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC & PLANNING COMMITTEE
Thursday 01 February 2001 at 7.30 p.m.

2. Minutes
12-10-01 approved

3. Matters arising
Byley: Letter from Cranage PC enclosing copy of proposed letter of objection prepared by planning consultant, Dr. Le-Las, on behalf of local councils.
Question arose of payment of consultancy fees and agreed Clerk discuss with Clerk of Cranage PC.

4. Planning application
Committee considered revised application for Good Companions site which included 4 additional public parking spaces.
Resolved: object on grounds of no substantial improvement and enquiries be made about any section 106 monies.

5. Finance
Committee considered its budget provision for next year, major item being for village centre improvements. Agreed budget for 2002/3 should consider provision for planning appeals, especially because of possibility of local plan inquiry.

6. Village centre improvements
Mr Hopkinson of CBC attended to give update. He was asked to progress plans bearing in mind total budget allocation now available.

7. Car parking / library
RCP reported on last library liaison meeting:
Doubt about capital budget;
Further clarification on parking position required but likely to be released if planning application approved.

8. Middlewich Road School – bus lay-by
IMM reported that no response to funding application.
Matter would not proceed unless lay-by allowed to west of school entrance.

9. Pedestrian crossing – London Road
Road safety / visibility problems discussed.
Resolved:
1. these be referred to Highways Department
2. Police be pressed to deal with parking/ delivery problems.
Noted new police inspector had agreed to attend Council meeting on 29-03-01.

10. Knutsford Road bridge
Committee considered parking problems causing damage to grass verge.
Resolved: refer to Highways Department and Angling Club.
